WHO WE ARE

This service is based on telephone and online support for questions related to the use of online platforms and technologies. Linha Internet Segura is now a specific support service of APAV's Integrated Distance Support System (SIAD), which provides anonymous and confidential support for the use of online technologies, covering all issues related to their use, including relationship problems within families or between peers, bullying, as well as inappropriate and undignified exploitation of children and young people, etc. The integration of Linha Internet Segura in SIAD also ensures an articulated response with the APAV proximity services.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Linha Internet Segura are: Providing telephone and online support guaranteeing anonymity and confidentiality; Having a system to refer serious occurrences to the competent authorities when a child appears to be in danger; Analyse, discussing and providing results that contribute to awareness-raising strategies in the Safe Internet space.

In the pursuit of better quality and more comprehensive service, Linha Internet Segura relies on the support of various entities for forwarding and following up contacts, whose integrated response in SIAD allows each situation to be dealt with by combining both APAV's proximity services and the referral systems agreed between APAV and partner entities.

The Linha Internet Segura, as a member of the International Association of Internet Hotlines - INHOPE, also includes a service for reporting illegal online content, where a set of means is made available through which, in an anonymous way, reports of possibly illegal content can be filed. The reports received are processed and analysed by dedicated analysts, who give them the appropriate follow-up: national police authority or international counterpart.
